History and Objective

The Burkinabe Association for Child Survival (ABSE) is a non-governmental development organization based in Burkina Faso.
In 1991, young high schools under the age of 15 founded the ABSE with the following objectives :

  • Combat infant mortality,
  • Fight against ignorance and illiteracy,
  • Promote and enforce the rights of the child,
  • Work towards the social reintegration of children and socio-professional youth in difficulty,
  • To work for the development and development of young people, women and Of children in Burkina Faso.

Important dates :
21 July 1991 : Establishment of the Burkinabe Association for the Survival of Children (ABSE)
12 November 1991 : Official recognition of the organization by the Burkinabe authorities.
25 October 1995 : Granting of the status of a development NGO by the Burkinabe authorities
1 June 2011 : Special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
